Going to try to make an effort to bring back "News You Already Know" on a more weekly basis. With everything else going on it's tough to find time. So let's give it a shot.

* "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" is set to go berserker on May 1st. There's yet another trailer that you can see at Newsarama.com. Click HERE to check it out and have a box of tissues close.

* Warner Brothers is planning a live action "Green Lantern" and "Jonah Hex" film for 2010. As of now there's been no other major news. We have learned that both Emile Hirsch and Ryan Gosling have turned down the offer to suit up for the CORPS. Warner Brothers should keep in mind that I am still available.

* "HEROES" has received a fourth season from NBC. Although the ratings are down almost 30% it should be noted that it is still NBC's second highest rated show next to "The Office". The fourth season order was for 18 - 20 episodes. Some are suggesting that NBC will announce an end date for the show like "LOST" and "Battlestar Galactica" have done in the past.

* April 28th Disney will be releasing "X-Men: The Animated Series" on DVD. This is the series from the 90's that fans have been waiting for. Now we just need the Adam West Batman series.

* Transformers 2 also has a new teaser trailer. Much better than the first. Check it out HERE.

Season One of Cee Diddy Video Blog was a real learning experience. You can notice a real difference as the episodes go by and lead in to the Comic Con Countdown. When I knew that season one was coming to an end I wanted to take a break and really do something cool to evolve the video blog to the next phase. So here's how the video blog is going work for Season Two. Each month will consist of four new episodes. When all four episodes are combined they will make one full episode of Cee Diddy Holla Video Blog. Here's a rundown of the four monthly episodes.

* Looks like Sony may be pulling the plus on a Green Hornet film for the second time. Since Stephen Chow has stepped down as Director the film has hit a brick wall. The was set to star Seth Rogan as the Hornet and Stephen Chow as Kato.

* Watchmen is now being released on March 6th 2009. Currently Warner Brothers has been posting viral videos as promotion.

* So Batman got zapped in Final Crisis #6 and appears to be dead. I have not comment on this much due to the release of Final Crisis #7 this week. More insight in to the "death" of Batman should be coming soon.

* Heath Ledger is on a roll with winning both a Golden Globe and a SAG award for his portray as Joker. Can he make it a hat trick with a win at the Academy Awards?

* DC Comics editor Bob Schreck was laid off last Thursday. It was also announced that MAD magazine will now be published on a quarterly basis. Rumors are still floating that Dan Didio would be the next to be laid off by DC Comics.

* The spoilers are starting to roll in on DC's Blackest Night. The first two Black Lanterns were revealed in the solicitations for the action figures. So who are the ring wearing zombies? Earth 2 Superman and Martian Manhunter.

* Marvel Studios is set to ruin a good thing by being cheap. First they don't offer Sam Jackson enough to come back as Nick Fury and now it's being said that Mickey Rourke isn't thrilled with the amount of money he's being offered to suit up as a bad guy in Iron Man 2. Sam Rockwell is almost 100% confirmed for the movie as Justin Hammer. Maybe this is why Rourke is going to be at Wrestlemania 25.

* Micheal Uslan is set to serve as an executive producer for the sequel to "Dark Knight". Uslan was quoted saying that 2011 would be the soonest we could see a sequel.

Batman: Battle for the Cowl

DC Comics has released another great teaser for an upcoming event. This time we've got a teaser drawn by Tony Daniel for "Batman: Battle for the Cowl". Check out the teaser and then read the notes and hints I've gathered from this.

I'm going to start with the Joker card and try to work my way along the whole teaser.

1) The Joker card features a backwards "J" and is only half covered in a shadow. The big question here is what happens to the Joker if Batman is missing. Batman makes Joker complete. Without him would Joker have to invent another? Perhaps Joker could even develop a split personality to do battle with.

2) The Batman with the staff is Tim Drake. Tim is wearing the yellow oval suit which hearkens back to a brighter time in Batman's history. Batman is a darker character now and Tim is scared to become that. We've seen a future where Tim was Batman and used a gun. This image says to me that Tim is staying Robin, hence why he still has his staff, and he will continue to bring some light to the dark Batman character.

3) Harley Quin is right behind Tim. She's holding a gun that says "Bang" and she's looking right at Tim. If Joker is depressed with the disappearance of Batman, how would you cheer him up? Kill a Robin! It looks to me that Harley is out to make Mister J. happy by killing a little birdie.

4) Alfred is dressed up in his old spy outfit. This represents him doing work back in the field again as a solider. Some would even suggest that he will have some ties to the Outsiders.

5) Next we have Dick Grayson has Batman. Even the bat on his chest is designed similar to the Nightwing outfit. He's placed dead center in the teaser representing that Dick takes center stage in the upcoming mini series.

6) Behind Dick we see the memorial for Batman. In the memorial is the most recent Batman outfit. This would represent that the Batman we knew is now a fallen solider.

7) The Batman in the blue and red is Harvey Dent. You can even see the scars on his face. During 52 Harvey was left the keys to Gotham in Batman's absence. Harvey obviously feels he should continue as Gotham's protector again.

8) In front of Harvey is one of the three Batmans from Grant Morrison's stories. This was the third Batman that Bruce ran in to. All three of them were working for Dr.Hurt. Having him stand on top a "Wayne Enterprise" crate with the limp arm hanging out represents the death of Wayne Enterprise. Something that Dr.Hurt was working towards during the "Batman R.I.P." story.

9) Next we have Damien standing with a "Bruce Wayne". In Damien's hand we see a bandage that is wrapped around the "Bruce Wayne". The "Bruce Wayne" in question would be Hush. Damien holding the bandage represent that Damien is controlling Hush. If Batman has gone missing then so has Bruce Wayne. This could be a move for Damien and Hush to move right in to Wayne Manor. Remember Damien wants to be accepted as Bruce's son more than anything. Hush was also jealous of Bruce's life.

10) Batwoman is right behind Damien and Hush and is holding up a magnify glass. This shows us that she's investigating the appearance of "Bruce Wayne" and Damien.

11) The giant Penny is originally from a Two-Face story. We now see the penny is all scratched up like Harvey's lucky coin. The giant Penny represents the chaos side of the teaser. The teaser is split in to two halves. On the chaos side we have Harvey, the third Batman, Damien, and Hush. Batwoman is also on that side as she tries to make sense of the chaos.

12) The other side of the teaser has the T-Rex. The T-Rex comes from the innocent era of Batman during the 60's. On this side of the teaser we have Alfred, Tim Drake, and Dick Grayson. We also have Harley on this side of the teaser but just like Batwoman being on chaos side.

Feburary brings back the New York Comic Con, which means the triad of nerd will be hitting the big apple in a big way.

As already announced we will have brand new video blogs that will countdown the five weeks before the Comic Con. We're also going to show some pics and videos never posted before from previous cons.

Last year we met a lot of cool people including, Bryan Hitch, Grant Morrison, Geoff Johns, Joe Quesada, Billy Tan, Chris Claremont, Garth Ennis, Dan Didio, Jim Lee, and many others.

This year the guest list is looking really good. Brian Bendis will finally be at the Con! Also Matt Fraction, George Perez, Jim Lee, Adam Kubert, Andy Kubert, Geoff Johns, J. Michael Straczynski, Neal Adams, Joe Kubert, Joe Simon, Marv Wolfman, Leinil Yu, Rags Morales, Ron Garney, Alex Maleev, C.B. Cebulski, David Mack, Jimmy Palmiotti, Mark Waid, Ron Marz, and Tom Defalco.

I have been very critical of the television show "Smallville" the last few years. There are certain triggers I think should have been pulled a few years ago. I have been wary of the direction of the show especially with this new season. As of right now there is no announcement of a new season as Tom Welling has not signed a new contract yet. The second half of the new season is coming up and the trailer looks pretty good. Check it out and expect a Martian Manhunter spin-off for next year.

Crazy Ass Rumors

* Batman R.I.P. is now over and after the Batman Final Crisis tie-ins the world will be left without a Batman. Another person missing from the Batman universe will be writer Grant Morrison. Just like Bruce Wayne though, it looks like Grant will only be away for a limited amount of time. Rumor has it that Morrison will return to Batman in April or May and he's bringing artist Frank Quietly with him. Fans of Morrison's "New X-Men" and "All-Star Superman" should be excited about this. Everyone else should expect the book to come out bi-monthly with someone like Quietly drawing the book.

* Staying with Batman, "Battle for the Cowl" kicks off in March. The solicitations tease that many different people want to pick up the mantle of the bat, but is this really the case? It's expected that people like Batwoman, Catwoman, Wildcat, and Huntress would want to help Gotham, but do you really think any of them want to be Batman? Batman has always been seen as a tragic character. Tim Drake doesn't want to be Batman and I don't think Dick Grayson wants to be Batman either. The only two people who want to be Batman are Harvey Dent and Bruce Wayne's son Damien. It's still a safe to place that Dick Grayson will inherit the curse of being Batman.

* Secret Invasion is finally over and now we move in to "Dark Reign". Marvel says that this is not another inter-company crossover, yet there's a checklist for it. There's a lot to speculate about this one. First off we have Mighty Avengers. The rumored line-up of team is all classic members of the Avengers. Heroes like, Ant-Man, Jocasta, Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, Hercules, US Agent, and Hulk. The final line-up of the team is still open to rumor. The big rumor is that Hank Pym wants Scarlet Witch around in hopes that she can somehow resurrect his ex-wife Jan Van Dyne aka The Wasp.

* The Dark Avengers will be Norman Osborne's version of the Avengers. Some of the people are a bit of a mystery right now. It has been promised that we will know who everyone is by the end of the first book, but we can still speculate until then. Iron Patriot will be Norman Osborn, the Spider-Man looking character is Venom, Wolverine's son Draken will be their Wolverine, Moonstone takes up the costume of Ms.Marvel, Ares and Marvel Boy will also be on the team. The only one I don't have a lead on is Hawkeye.

Season Greetings,

With the holidays coming up my schedule has been a little crazy, but I wanted to take a minute and give an update on what to expect in the coming weeks.

Currently we are writing and filming the holiday edition of Cee Diddy Video Blog. This will be followed by an end of the year spectacular. The end of the year video blog will be a big review of what went on in the DC and Marvel Universe and will be one of the longer video blogs that is really catered to the hardcore comic book geek.

Starting in 2009 we will start counting down the weeks til the New York Comic Con. The countdown will lead us right to our coverage and on site video blogs from the 2009 New York Comic Con.

The regular editions of the Cee Diddy Video Blog will start again in March of 2009. If we're lucky there might even be some other surprises along the way.

* DC made the announcement that the following series, "Robin", "Nightwing", & "Birds of Prey" were all being cancelled in December. What they have not told us yet is that the books are being replaced by the new series, "Red Robin", "Batman & Robin", and "Gotham's Bad Girls". The last one is suppose to following the adventures of Harley Quinn and Catwoman.

* While we are still waiting for the official word on Thor, Marvel Studios announced today the director for "The Fist Avenger: Captain America." Joe Johnston will be the director that brings the star-spangled avenger to the silver screen in May of 2011. Johnston is known for directing "The Rocketeer". For the record fanboys are rejoicing.

* In a recent interview with the Los Angels Times, singer/actress Beyonce talked about her plans to play Wonder Woman in the upcoming Warner Brothers film. It should be noted that there is no official announcement on a Wonder Woman project from the studio at the time. I idea of Beyonce playing Wonder Woman is a big of a long shot. Warner Brothers is very protective of the franchise players and are never to keen on making drastic changes like the color of Wonder Woman's skin.

* It is official, Robert Downey Jr. and Don Cheadle are both signed for Iron Man 2 and The Avengers. Jon Favreau will be directing Iron Man 2 and will serve as the Executive Producer of The Avengers.

* The Tony award winning, David Lindsay-Abaire is in final negations to write Spider-Man 4. Many were under the idea that the movie was already written. Hopefully this will hurt the chances of the film coming out in 2011.

* J. Michael Straczynski is working on a the screenplay for a remake of Forbidden Planet. Straczynski is known for his work on Thor, Amazing Spider-man, and The Twelve.

* In typical fashion, Marvel has pushed back the release of the final part of "Secret Invasion" by two weeks.

* New York Comic Con (NYCC) has today revealed that J. Michael Straczynski will be a Guest of Honor at the 2009 event. This appearance marks a return to NYCC for Mr. Straczynski who first appeared at the show in 2007. The creator of the acclaimed sci-fi television series Babylon 5, J. Michael Straczynski is a prolific writer with stories gracing media from comic books to the silver screen. Most recently, he wrote the upcoming Changeling -- premiering October 24 -- for Clint Eastwood and starring Angelina Jolie.

* One of the unlockable Easter eggs in Guitar Hero World Tour is the trailer for Guitar Hero: Metallica. The game is due out sometime in 2009.

Let's start by stating that first and foremost this site is for geeks by geeks. Since day one we have covered all things geek in regards of comic books, video games, and movies. Well we are now ready to extend things a little bit.

There's a very good friend of ours that we like to call "Hollywood" Adam Grover. Hollywood is a huge fans of the Boston Celtics. One could even say that he is a geek for the Boston Celtics. Just like your friend Cee Diddy, Hollywood has the need to share his love with the rest of the world and can now be seen weekly on a public access show called "Gang Green".

Every week you can watch the gang that is green talk Celtics and everything Celtics related. So please take a moment and show them some of the geeky love and check out the first episode of the season. You can watch the show on vimeo.com or weekly here on New Cee Diddy Holla.

* Actor Daniel Craig has confirmed that Marvel Studio's offered him the leading role in their upcoming "Thor" movie. Mr. Craig turned down the chance to play the thunder God. Good.

* J.G. Jones is officially not drawing issue #7 of DC's "Final Crisis". Doug Mahnke will be doing the pencil work for the final chapter in Grant Morrisons epic tale for DC comics. While most are disappointed with this news, it's better than the book being late.

* As of right now the "He-Man" movie is been buried. Maybe if "G.I. Joe" does well we're start to hear more rumblings.

* Lucas Arts and Bioware have officially announced a new MMORPG that takes place in the Star Wars Universe. "Star Wars: The Old Republic" will hit PCs in the near future. Click HERE to read all the geeky details.

* Terrance Howard is out of Iron Man 2 and Don Cheadle is in. Terrance Howard wanted more money than Marvel Studios wanted to pay. So the easy solution was to replace him with the great Don Cheadle. I'm not a big fan of recasting but Don Cheadle is a much better actor than Howard.

* Fanboys will be yelling "MORTAL KOMBAT" sooner than expected. Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe has just been moved from December to November 16th.

* "Iron Man" screenwriters Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby told MTV that they want a certain green skinned giant as the film's antagonist. "I hope 'The Avengers' embraces that," Fergus said. "You don't want like 10 super-badass good guys fighting together. Where's the fun in that? Let's break it off a little. Friends or colleagues who become enemies is always an interesting thing because you know it's based on love and friendship and that's always the worst thing to have turn bad - someone you actually care about and someone you actually believe in."

* Everyone wants to know if there is a deleted scene in the "Incredible Hulk" dvd that features a frozen Captain America. I am going out on a limb and saying the answer to that is NO. What you will see if you pay very close attention is a photo of a frozen Captain America in the movie's new intro. You can see the pic below.

* Marc Guggenheim is in the middle of writing the screen adaptation of "Green Lantern" for Warner Brothers. The studio is hoping to start filming the movie in 2009 for a 2010 release. There's a rumor that Ryan Gosling is up for the role of Green Lantern: Hal Jordan.

* The little book that could is coming to an end. "Amazing Spider-Girl" is coming to an end with issue #30. This book actually lasted for a few years and avoided cancellation on multiple occasions.

* Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Lex Luthor will be making a return to Smallville at some point this season.

Crazy Ass Rumors

* "The Incredible Hulk" DVD will be coming in October. It is rumored that there is an alternate ending to the film that will be on the DVD. The alternate ending sees Bruce Banner traveling to the Antartic, seeking a place to die. When Banner gets to the his final resting place he finds a frozen Captain America.

* "Secret Invasion" is coming to an end soon and the rumored ending is...the good guys win and skrulls go home, after a giant death toll of humans and skrulls take place. I know it's not all that radical of an ending, but who knows.

* Spinning out of "Secret Invasion" will be new line-ups for the various Avengers team. There is speculation right now that Dr.Strange, Echo, and Iron Fist are leaving the New Avengers. Joining the team will be the new Captain America.

* The Dark Illuminati is set to appear soon. The line-up is rumored to be, Loki, Dr.Doom, Vulcan, Namor, Emma Frost, and Norman Osborn. Others are speculating that Purple Man and or The Hood would be in that group.

* Ultimate Black Panther is Nick Fury.

News You Already Know: Baltimore Con 08' Edition

* The official announcement of the Avengers creative changes came at the Marvel panel. Brian Micheal Bendis will continue to write "New Avengers" and will be the writer on the new "Dark Avengers" series. Dan Slott will be the new writer on "Mighty Avengers" and Chris Gage will be the solo writer for "Avengers: Initiative". Expect roster changes on all the teams after "Secret Invasion". Dan Slott has confirmed that old-school favorite Jocasta will be part of his line-up, along with a founding member of the Avengers. It should also be noted that Dan Slott is not keen on using anyone that already has a monthly title.

* "Spider-Woman: Agent of SWORD" will debut in March of 2009. The creative team will reunite Benis and Alex Maleev who have not worked together since their amazing run on "Daredevil".

* "Black Panter" is getting another relaunch after "secret Invasion" Reggie Hudlin will continue to be the writer.

* "Ultimates 4" is still on tap to happen. Jeff Loeb is currently working on the title with Frank Cho.

* DC announced "Final Crisis: Rage of the Red Lanterns". This one-shot will be the introduction of the Red Lanterns. They decide to show up when they hear that Sinestro is going to be executed. Don't get the wrong idea, they're not showing up to save him. They want to do the execution.

* "Super-Man: New Krypton" will deal with newly restored Kandor and what it's like having 100,000 super-powered citizen running around. Here's a hint, some of thee guys are not going to be as helpful as Kal-El. Also expect a new Nightwing, Flamebird, and Super-Woman.

* Black Adam and Isis will be taking center stage in the next story arc of Justice Society. Guess what? Isis isn't dead! She was hidden by Felix Faust. How's Black Adam going to handle this?

* Terror Titans #4 will feature the first DC appearance of Static, from the Milestone universe. It was previously announced that Static would be joining the Teen Titans soon.

* In Janurary DC will be releasing some specials that feature the worst of worst. Villains getting their own special include, Deathstroke, Solomon Grundy, Kobra, and Prometheus.

* This year's "DC Holiday Special" will feature an 8 page Aquaman story with art by Ian Churchill. Still no word on the previously announced "Young Aquaman" by up and coming writer Evan Stone.

* "Black Lightening: Year One" is slated for a March release.

I go to a lot of websites everyday. If I didn't I wouldn't have things to post about. Keen observers of this blog will notice that I have a list of sites that I visit on a regular basis. When I come across a new one that I want to share I add it to the Diddy-verse of links.

Recently I cam across Hulu.com. This is a site that is similar to You Tube, but offers complete episodes of television shows and movies. The difference between this and You Tube is that the stuff being posted is authorized to be on here. So when you come across that episode of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" you won't be let down by a message telling you the link was disabled.

The site includes full episodes with thirty second ads. Quick clips from episodes. Special behind the scene clips that usually end up on websites. It also has full length films. The site is great if you don't have the cash to purchase an entire season or if you want to see if you enjoy a show that you haven't had time to sit down and watch on tv. Check out Hulu.com

* Marvel Studios as debunked the Will Smith rumors regarding Captain America. As of right now we still have no leads on who will be playing the Star-Spangled Avenger.

* Phillip Seymour Hoffman as also debunked rumors that he is playing Penguin in the next Batman film. Mr.Hoffman also reminded everyone that the same rumor was going around five years ago after the first Batman film.

* Marvel has announced a new Avengers title that starts after "Secret Invasion". "Dark Avengers" will be written by Brian Micheal Benids. Bendis will be leaving "Mighty Avengers" but staying on "New Avengers". "Dark Avengers" will reflect the status change in the Marvel Universe after "Secret Invasion". All the Marvel books will be labeled with "Dark Reign" after the invasion is over. This adds fuel to the rumor that the Skrulls win control of Earth.

* Chuck Dixon has found a new home at IDW. The former writer of DC titles such as "Robin" and "Booster Gold", will be writing "G.I. Joe" for IDW. You can check out part one of a round table interview with Chuck Dixon, Larry Hama, Andy Schmidt, Chris Ryall, and Mike Costa, HERE.

* Mark Millar made it official that his return to Marvel's Ultimate Universe will be in the new "Ultimate Avengers" series. Millar has promised that every story arc will be an epic event similar to a "Secret Invasion" or "Civil War". The book will feature different line-ups in each book also. No word if this title will be replacing "The Ultimates".

* In January "The Dark Knight" will return to IMAX theaters for a limited release. Warner Bros. is hoping this will help remind the academy when the Oscars roll around. Remember nerds, if Star Wars and LOTR can get nominated, so can Batman.

* The newest Batman movie rumor to surface has Cher, yep Cher, playing Catwoman in the next Batman film.

* Iron Man 2 and Thor are coming up in 2010. As of now we have no idea who will play Thor, but a new rumor is going around about Captain America. It is being reported that Will Smith has been offered the role of Steve Rogers. I had no problem with a black Kingpin, and I enjoy the black Nick Fury, but no way am I going for this idea. Some things you don't change.

* Marvel Comics are going to be seeing a lot of green in the coming years. No we're not talking about cash, we're talking about Skrulls. An early rumor going around is that the Skrulls may not win the "Secret Invasion" but will be calling Earth home after the series ends.

* We have been talking about "Spider-Man 4 and 5" for a few months now. The scripts are done, and word is that Sam Raimi and Tobey "Billion dollars" Maguire are signed to do the next two films about the web crawler. As usual, early word as Lizard as appearing in the new Spider-Man film.

* Marvel Studios is still toying with the idea of doing the proposed Edgar Wright "Ant-Man" film. One rumor suggest that the title will be "Ant-Man: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D." Geeks are still hoping the movie will get the green light and have Simon Pegg casted as the lead.

* Issue one of "Secret Six" saw the first new addition to the team. Just as we called it, Bane was added to the team. There's still one person left to add, and our official guess is Harley Quinn.

* Kingdom Come 2 was mentioned by DC Comics one month and never spoken of again. The rumors are circulating now that the sequel will be coming in 2009 and is not exactly what you think. The book will be done by Geoff Johns and Alex Ross, but takes place in the current DC universe.

* In "Secret Invasion" #4 we saw Reed Richards lay some smack down and start revealing some Skrulls. the speculation that I'm hearing is that from here out the series will be more about fighting and less about who is and who isn't a skrull. Maybe the "Who do you Trust?" was more hype than anything. If true then we know not to trust Marvel Comics.

* Bruce Wayne became Batman when his parents were gunned down in Crime Alley. Will the death of Alfred during "Batman R.I.P." be the moment that retires Bruce Wayne? Will Alfred's last words to Master Wayne be, "I am proud of you Son."

* There's another Avengers shake-up coming soon. Expect Captain America to join New Avengers after "Secret Invasion"

* Time for some new Batman movie rumors. Brian Austin Green from 90210 to play the Riddler in the next film. Not sure where this one started but its too funny to ignore. The Angelina Jolie/Catwoman rumor is still going strong too. David Goyer has commented that maybe they won't use any of the more well known villains. I call bullshit on three of those items.

* Speaking of sequels. Word is that character of Dr. Donald Blake will play a part in the next Iron Man movie. Most fans know that the good Dr.Blake is the human host for the Thunder God known as Thor. Although a second script has not come in yet, unconfirmed director Jon Favreu wants a shot at Hulk in the movie, as a cameo.

* What if Robert Downey Jr doesn't want to be an Avenger? There are early reports that Terrance Howard will be kept on contract to play War Machine in an Avengers movie if Robert Downey losses interest by 2011.

* Punisher: Warzone will end up being rated pG-13, instead of the R we were all waiting for. Just a reminder, the last film was rated R.

* The biggest rumor going around right now is that at the end of "Batman: R.I.P." a chase for the the cowl will result in Dick Grayson becoming Batman and Jason Todd becoming Red Robin. The "Nightwing" book will be renamed "Red Robin" and "Robin" will become "Batman & Robin".

*A third Christopher Nolan "Batman" movie just might be in the works. The rumor is that a third film might be titled "Gotham". It is also being rumored that Angelina Jolie could be suiting up ass Catwoman.

* Sony Pictures and Fox Studios are looking to recreate what Marvel Pictures have started with "Iron Man" and "Incredible Hulk". The upcoming Wolverine film will help expand the X-Men universe and possible lead to the Magento film. There is also the rumored X-Men prequel that would focus on the team when they were young. The X-Men prequel would feature a team on Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, Banshee, Quicksilver, Beast, among others. Sony has announced they want to look in to doing a "Venom" film. If Sony and Fox can come up with some good spin-off films they could start crossing them over just like Marvel Pictures plans to do.

* After the bomb of "The Love Guru" was dropped on our laps, Mike Meyers has decided to go back to the well. No this doesn't mean we get that third Wayne's World movie, it means a fourth Austin Powers movie. The movie is rumored follow Dr.Evil as the main character.

* I really hate rumors about a third Batman movie. I know I already posted two but I have two more that need to be addressed. The first one is an old favorite. Phillip Seymour Hoffman is being courted to play Penguin in the next film. For those of you who remember, this rumor has been out there since "Batman Begins" came out. Our other rumor is a new one. Johnny Depp is being rumored to play Riddler in the next film. Keep in mind there isn't even a third film written yet.

Here by popular request is the "News You Already Know: SDCC 08' Edition"

* Neil Gaiman and Andy Kubert will be reuniting for a small run on Batman. The story is titled "What Ever Happened to the Cape Crusader". The title is a play off of the classic Superman story, "What Ever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow". The story will be taking place after "Batman R.I.P." The interesting thing is that Alan Moore's Superman story of a similar title was the closing chapter on an entire chapter of Superman. "What Ever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow" ended the character's silver age continuity so that an upcoming reboot could take place. Does this mean the same will be happening for Batman?

* Mark Millar will be returning to Marvel's Ultimate Universe. No word on exactly which title he will be working on. Early speculation is a return to "The Ultimates"

* Andy Diggle and artist Roberto De La Torre have been announced as the new creative team for Marvel's "Thunderbolts". Expect a few new members to be added to the team.

* DC Comics has acquired the rights to the "Archie Heroes". Characters like The Shield, The Web, The Comet, The Fly, The Jaguar, and The Black Hood are all being brought in to the DC mainstream by writer J. Michael Straczynski. JMS will be reintroducing these forgotten character in his upcoming run on "Brave & the Bold".

* Geoff Johns has written an episode of "Smallville" that will introduce Legion in to the series.

* Writer Valerie D'Orazio will be bringing Marvel Comics a new "Cloak & Dagger" series. The two fans of the series are planning to throw a party.

* Kevin Smith is writing a three part Batman mini series. The good news is that three scripts have already been turned in. Expect the third part to be done in ten years.

* DC is bringing back the Milestone characters and will be incorporating them in to the mainstream universe. Already announced is that Static will be joining the Teen Titans.

* When "The Flash" relaunches after Final Crisis expect the book to have more of a team theme. It's rumored the Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Scriver will be focusing on all four of the men who have carried the legacy of the Flash. Alex Ross is being rumored to be designing a new costume for Bart Allen, and Wally West.

* Batman R.I.P. is full swing so it's time to take a look at some of the Crazy Ass Rumors.
1) Dick Grayson will take over as Batman for a limited time while Bruce Wayne is in a coma.

2) Tim Drake will assume the role of Nightwing.

3) Alfred will be revealed to be the real father of Bruce Wayne. After the reveal he will be killed.

4) It will be revealed that Thomas Wayne set up the mugging in the alley but didn't know the crook was going to double cross him and kill them both.

5) Nothing is going to change but Batman's costume.

* Who are going to save the Marvel Universe from the Secret Skrull Invasion? That would be the Skrulls. This invading army isn't the Skrull army in the universe. It's rumored that the Skrulls invading now are actually a very small faction that of the Skrull empire. Once the other Skrulls know what's going on, they're coming to the rescue.

* In two weeks we finally get to see "The Dark Knight". It only makes sense that the rumors about a third film would start to circulate. Gary Oldman was quoted saying that the third film would see The Riddler as the main bad guy.

* Konami has decided to jump in to the "vs" game business. Coming out later this year will be a "Castlevania" themed fighting game. Characters already confirmed for the game are Simon Belmont, Alucard, Maria Renard, Shanoa and Dracula. The game is scheduled to come out later this year on the Nintendo Wii.

* It has come out that writer Alan Burnett will only be writing "The Flash" for four issues. Burnett will not reveal if his short run has anything to do with the rumored team of Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Scriver relaunching the book after "Final Crisis"

* G.I. Joe will be getting a web cartoon that will lead up the silver screen premier. It has been reported that Warren Ellis will be the writer behind the upcoming shorts.

* It has been revealed by Bruce Timm that the new animated show "Batman: The Brave and The Bold" will see the caped crusader team up with the following, Green Arrow, Blue Beetle, Green Lantern, Plastic Man, Red Tornado, and more. There is even speculation that Batman will team up with a villain in an episode.

* The upcoming Wonder Woman direct to DVD animated movie will feature Alfred Molina as the voice of Ares. Virginia Madsen will take on the role of Hippolyta and Rosario Dawson will voice Artemis. The DVD still has a release date of Spring 2009.

* Dynamite Entertainment was acquired the rights to produce new "Judge Dredd" comics. Attached to help launch the new series will be Garth Ennis and John Wagner.

* Dan Abbnet and Andy Lanning have both signed exclusive contracts with Marvel Comics.

* Starting with issue #34 "Supergirl" will have the new creative team of Sterling Gates and Jamal Igle.

* Artist Luke Ross has also signed an exclusive contract with Marvel Comics. He will be working on "Captain America"

Micheal Turner R.I.P.

Legendary artist Micheal Turner passed away Saturday night after a long battle with cancer. Turner was one of those artist that you didn't mind when his books were late. They were always worth the wait. Towards the end of his career he mostly did covers but was scheduled to do a "Avengers/X-Men" crossover with writer Jeph Loeb. It's a sad day for the comic book industry to lose such a great talent.

News You Already Know: WW Phily 08' Edition

Let's start this off by letting everyone know if they want GOOD coverage of this year's Wizard World Philly Convention they should go over to Newsarama.com and check out the great updates they gave us all weekend.

* Writer Greg Pak (Phoenix: End Song) and penciler Carmine Di Giandomenico (Daredevil: Battlin' Jack Murdoch) will be bringing us "Magneto: Testament" in September. The book will follow the young Magneto and his family through Germany and Poland from 1935 to 1945. the story takes a look at the families struggle as they the Nazis rise to power.

* "The Age of Sentry" will be brought to us by writers Jeff Parker and Paul Tobin. The miniseries will take place during the Sentry's forgotten past.

* Doug Braithwaite has signed an exclusive deal with Marvel. His first project will be penciling duties on "Thor: Secret Invasion"

* Ed Brubacker (Daredevil, Criminal) will bringing the new character Lady Bullseye to the pages of Daredevil. Brubacker has said that she does have a link to the original Bullseye. I"m thinking she works for the same guy that Bullseye once worked for.

* Marvel Zombies 3 comes to life this year in October. It's being brought to us by the creative team of Van Lente and Kev Walker. Early details tell us that the Marvel Zombies are going to show up in the 616 Marvel Universe.

* Dan Didio confirmed once again that Barry Allen was returning as The Flash. Didn't say how long he would be around though.

Batman R.I.P.

Wow!

Part two of Batman R.I.P. came out today and things are definitely getting interesting. The Black Glove have made their strike against Batman and it was a truly crippling strike. Here's our analyze

Pages 1- 3
Batman is in the sewers taking out a henchmen of the Black Glove. Commissioner Gordon tries to reach out and help Batman.

Pages 4 - 5
In the Batcave we see Batman starting to put some pieces together to solve the riddle of the Black Glove. When Batman comments that his parents have a tie to the Black Glove, it almost seems like Alfred is trying to change the subject.

Pages 6 - 7
The Black Glove have shown up in Gotham and are ready to strike. Dr.Hurt pledges to do what the Joker and Two-Face could never do, kill Batman. We even see as members of the Black Glove are going over blue prints to Wayne Manor.

Pages 8 - 9
Bruce Wayne brings his new gal Jezebel Jet to the Batcave. Never a good idea. Batman tries to explain to her why he does what he does. It still seems clear that she's part of the Black Glove.

Pages 10 - 11
The best scene in the book. A newspaper is ready to run with a story that would ruin the image of the Wayne family. Commissioner Gordon is trying to get the story killed, but the editor has too much evidence that the story is legit. There's some crazy claims going around. Thomas Wayne was a drunk drug addict that beat his wife. Martha Wayne was taking hard drugs via needles. Martha Wayne and Aflred may have had an affair. Bruce Wayne might actually be the son of Alfred. And then there's the big one, Thomas Wayne may still be alive. Amazing.

Pages 12- 20
During these pages we see Batman start to fall apart mentally. Jezebel is pushing all the right buttons and even implies that Bruce is running the Black Hand so that he can find a way to stop being Batman. The scene builds and builds until the trigger words are said, "Zur-Rn-Arrh" and Batman hits the ground.

Pages 21 - 22
Alfred gets his ass kicked.

Overall this was a great book and I loved every page of it. The tease at the end said that the first Batman was going to return. Keep in mind that in the history of Batman there's a story where his father Thomas Wayne originally dressed as Batman during a Halloween party and foiled a robbery that night. One could say that Thomas Wayne was the first Batman, and that first costume was seen in the Batcave during Batman's mental breakdown.

* Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull ruled supreme at the box office this weekend. The four day domestic total was almost 127 millions dollars. To date the movie has made almost 300 million worldwide. It should also be noted that Iron Man made another 26 million over the Memorial Day weekend. Not bad for a movie that has been out for a month. To date Iron Man has made 486 million dollars worldwide. Now the big question is will Indiana be able to hold off the Sex in the City gals from taking the number 1 spot this weekend. My prediction right now is that Indy holds first place with Sex in the City coming in third.

* It's official PS3 owners will get a chance to kill children in October when the award winning Bioshock hits the console. This release will be just in time for Christmas and be yet another game that sits on my shelf and gets ignored while I play City of Heroes.

* Another sign that Sony is reading to spin some more webs. News has broke that actor, Patrick Fugit (Saved, Almost Famous) is rumored to replace Tobey Maguire.

* Rainn Wilson, better known as Dwight from the office, has signed on to appear in Transformers 2.

* The Watchmen movie is either going to be amazing or amazingly bad. So far I'm leaning to the category of amazing. Check out the latest picture released from the Zack Synder production.

Crazy Ass Rumors

* Sony is expected to make an announcement about Spider-Man 4 & 5 in the upcoming months. They first want to make sure that Sam Raimi is on board. Once they have their director the studio wants to make sure that the Screen Actors Guild isn't going on strike. If everything goes according to plan we could see Spider-Man 4 in 2010 with Spider-Man 5 coming in 2011. The scripts haven't been leaked to the Internet yet but early rumors indicate that the villains appearing in these films would be Mysterio, Lizard, Hydro Man, and a returning Green Goblin. It's also being rumored that the film would focus on Peter Parker and Gwen Stacey.

* Captain Marvel will be rejoining the JSA later this year during a story arc that involves a battle for the Rock of Eternity.

* Songbird from the Thunderbolts is a Skrull.

* This one is probably the craziest ass of the crazy ass rumors. Jean Grey is coming back in July.

You Tube Theater: Final Crisis Edition

DC's "Final Crisis" hits stores this week. It's expected to be the "Secret Invasion" killer for DC. This week we wanted to do a special You Tube Theater to get you pumped for "Final Crisis"

Our first two videos are a mini documentary about the King of Comics, Jack Kirby. How does this tie-in to "Final Crisis"? Jack Kirby created the New Gods and the Fourth World. "Final Crisis" will see the rise of the Fifth World and finally see Darkseid win.

Finally we have a short interview with Grant Morrison from this year's New York Comic Con. Grant talk about his many different projects including "Final Crisis"

Crisis Counseling

DC's "Final Crisis" is finally coming in August. This week DC started releasing books with the tag line of "Sightings". Basically any book with that tag line are suppose to be some sort of tie-in to "Final Crisis". Just like we continue to cover Marvel's "Secret Invasion", we will also be giving you up to the minute coverage with "Crisis Counseling".

This week we got a taste of Libra in the pages of "Justice League of America" #21. I hate to make the comparison but the whole scene with Libra and the villains of DC was very reminiscent to that of the Hood from the pages of New Avengers last year. Basically Libra saves the hide of Z-list villain, the Human Flame, and offers him his heart's desire. All the Human Flame has to do is join up with Libra and become a follower of Darkseid. The cool part about this scene is that we get to see that not only is Libra trying to recruit some lower level bad guys, he's going for the heavy hitters too. Lex Luthor, Gorilla Grood, and Dr. Polaris are just a few we see. The scene ends with a tease that Martian Manhunter is running on borrowed time. The Human Flame wants revenge on Martian Manhunter and Libra wants to prove that he's not just blowing smoke up the ass of these villains. This equation can only end up equalling the death of a certain underutilized green martian.

* Marvel's Runaways will be returning in September with writer Terry Moore and artist Huberto Ramos. The series is expected to pick up after the events of the Young Avengers/Runaways Secret Invasion crossover. Runaways fans can now rejoice in the hopes of this book becoming a monthly event. Check out the interview with Huberto Ramos at Newsarama.

* The upcoming Mortal Kombat vs DC game made news last week when it was announced that the game would not feature any fatalities. While some of the hardcore fans cried foul over this move, I'm just excited about a game based of DC characters that does not suck. Check out the website for the future fist fest HERE and see the new concept art.

* If you started buying Marvel comics in the 90's then you probably have a ton of books that guest star Spider-Man and own Ghost Rider books starring Danny Ketch. Ketch had been among the missing for years now until "Ghost Rider" #23 came out today. Writer Jason Aarons has been planning on bringing back Ketch for almost a year now after hearing the fans plea for his return. Grab issue #23 of "Ghost Rider" today and check out the return of Danny Ketch.

* The Micheal Turner alternate cover to "Wolverine" #66 has surfaced over at Comic Book Resources. The cover is a beauty and worth checking out. Funny part is where it says the book will be $2.99. When you actually find it in your comic book retailer, expect to pay more like $5.99 or more.

I hate when people take clips of movies and make trailers for movies that don't exist. It's annoying, poorly done, and a huge waste of space on the Internet. A new trend in comics books is for the publisher to make a trailer for their next big comic book event.
